What is the difference between Level 3 Bronze and Level 3 Silver?

- The difference is the content delivery. Bronze is delivered by pre recorded sessions which you undertake at your own pace. Silver is a combination of live and online sessions with some live activities, group discussions and tutorials. The live sessions are delivered on set days and times.

How long is each course?

- Level 3 Bronze is to be completed at your own pace over a 12-week period. We recommended you aim to complete 3 – 5 hours per week

- Level 3 Silver is a 30-hour tutor led course spread over 10 weeks plus a reading week

- Investigative Interviewing is a 2-hour course

- Strategic Decision Makers is a 2-hour course

Who are the courses aimed at?

- Level 3 Bronze and Silver is for anyone undertaking healthcare safety investigations

- Investigative interviewing is for anyone undertaking healthcare safety investigations

- Strategic Decision Makers is for an executive and non-executive board level members

Why do you need a board level sponsor for Level 3?

- We expect each trust to have an executive and non-executive board level members who will support the staff who undertake our training to utilise what they learn. This will support implementation of investigation science within your organisation.

Is the course framework aligned to the patient safety syllabus?

- No, our courses are focused on investigations not patient safety.

Is completing levels 1-8 equivalent of levels 1-6 in the patient safety syllabus?

- No, our courses are focused on investigations not patient safety.

When will Level 1, 2 and beyond 3 be released?

- Spring 2023

If you do not meet the criteria, what can you do?

- Currently we are funded to provide training for NHS funded care in England only. This includes independent organisations who provide NHS funded care.

If I have a prior commitment on one of the Level 3 Silver course dates, can I catch up?

- Yes; we record all of our live sessions and place them within our course on Canvas so that you can watch back. We only allow 2 sessions to be a planned miss.
