AvMA Chief Exec visits HSIB

Last Thursday (5 October), Peter Walsh, Chief Executive of AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents) visited HSIB to deliver an insightful talk, focusing on AvMA’s work supporting patients and families. 

Peter outlined the specialist services AvMA provides as well as talking about the work they do to within policy and practice to help improve patient safety. 

“It was a real pleasure to speak to HSIB staff about AvMA’s role in advising and supporting patients and families with regard to investigations,” said Peter. “There is lots of common ground and discussions around the challenges and good involvement and communication with patients.”
