For those of you who missed the event, we have made the following available to you.
As well as an overview from the HSIB investigation team, guests included experts in respiratory illness and behavioural medicine, including:
- Paediatric Consultant Dr Jen Townshend, at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS FT
- Rob Horne, Professor of Behavioural Medicine at University College London
- Dr Louise Fleming, Reader at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
The investigation team covered the HSIB approach to investigations, an asthma investigation summary, outputs and key messages, and an interview with one of our national investigators. It also featured a brief film in which bereaved mother, Dawn, spoke movingly of her daughter Tamara, who died aged 13 in 2014 after suffering an asthma attack.
There was also the opportunity to ask questions of the HSIB team and experts in respiratory illness, both during the main session and afterwards.
We would like to thank everyone who made our webinar a success. This includes the 400+ people who attended online from all parts of the country, Tamara’s mum Dawn who shared her story with us and allowed it to be shown during our webinar, and of course our panellists. We would also like to thank everyone for their extremely positive feedback about the event.
