HSIB investigators to stop visiting trusts to help reduce spread of coronavirus

by Communications team

As part of our day to day work HSIB staff and investigators visit healthcare organisations up and down the country.

Therefore, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided to stop face to face meetings at healthcare providers until further notice.

We will continue with our investigations and our normal business activities where possible but will do this remotely.

Wherever possible we shall avoid placing additional burden on healthcare services and will only interview staff if absolutely necessary and with their agreement.

We will want to keep engaging with the families involved in our reports and will continue speaking with them using remote technology rather than meeting them face to face.

We will review our approach regularly to support colleagues at the frontline of healthcare services.
