HSIB shares learning internationally at New Zealand safety symposium

by Communications team

In this short video, HSIB national investigator Saskia Fursland talks about her keynote speech at the Human Factors in Healthcare Symposium in New Zealand.

Saskia introduces the key themes she’ll talk about at the symposium including:

  • safety investigations in the NHS in England
  • HSIB and our systems approach to safety investigations
  • human factors
  • the significance of the first ever World Patient Safety Day.

The Human Factors in Healthcare Symposium takes place on 18 September 2019 at Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand. Although not a part of the initiative, it coincides with the first ever World Patient Safety Day. This is a global initiative established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to create awareness of patient safety and urge people to show their commitment to making healthcare safer.
