The Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Murray Anderson-Wallace as its new Advisory Panel Chair.

Murray is a visiting professor at the Health Systems Innovation Lab, London South Bank University, and runs the Darzi clinical fellowship programme as well as teaching within the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham.

Murray has a strong pedigree in health and in change management, having led large scale social change programmes in the UK and has worked closely with families experiencing harm in healthcare.

Murray has had a long association with HSIB as he is a founding member of our Advisory Panel. The Panel helps to ensure the independence of HSIB and provides external advice, challenge and feedback to support HSIB’s work.

Murray says: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to this role at such an important time for HSIB. I am sure that the Advisory Panel - all of whom have considerable expertise and experience - will be making a major contribution to shaping the HSSIB legislation as it progresses through Parliament in due course.

"It’s a really exciting time - I look forward to working closely with the executive team to ensure that collectively we do everything possible to build confidence and credibility with patients, their families and the professional community alike.”
