While EDI is everyone’s business, the commitment and passion of the EDI Champions will be instrumental to promoting and delivering aspects of EDI across the organisation in support of the Equality Act 2010.
Our EDI Champions will contribute to fostering good relations in terms of how we act and behave on the ground. It means more than just having a policy. It means talking and listening to staff and ensuring they are able to convey what they may need to help them work as inclusively as possible.
From recruitment to investigations, to staff engagement, our EDI Champions will strive to highlight where EDI needs attention, improvement and learning by ensuring EDI is an integral element of organisational strategies and policies.
All EDI Champions have submitted an expression of interest outlining their motivation, in many cases their lived experience, and areas where they personally have knowledge around certain protected characteristics.
The EDI Champions will be led by the Executive Sponsor (Director of Corporate Affairs) and the Head of EDI/Patient and Public Involvement.
