Rosie Benneyworth.

Rosie joined HSIB in August 2022 as interim Chief Investigator.

She has a longstanding interest in improving the quality and safety of care that people receive. Rosie joined us from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), where she was Chief Inspector of Primary Medical Services and Integrated Care with responsibility for regulation of a portfolio of services across many community sectors, introducing the regulation of integrated care systems (ICSs) and leading thematic work such as the review into do not attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DNACPR) decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rosie was a GP in Somerset for 15 years, and during that time also worked as a clinical commissioner with Somerset Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), commissioning a wide spectrum of services across the county. She was also the Managing Director of the South West Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), deputy chair of the national AHSN network and led the patient safety collaborative work during that time.

She was a non-executive Director and Vice Chair of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) between 2016 and 2019 and is currently a Trustee of the Nuffield Trust and the National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain.
